A historic hotel in Sheffield city centre with 105 newly refurbished bedrooms, an elegant Restaurant and guest Quiet room, Ball room and Bars. Situated at the site of Sheffield’s historic Victoria train station, the hotel was considered one of the most complete and luxurious hotels in the United Kingdom when it was built in 1862. It was given its “Royal” prefix after a visit of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1905. In 1860, James Radley, founder of the Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool, suggested to architect Matthew Ellison Hadfield that Sheffield required a first-class hotel. “Merchants from America, the Continent, and elsewhere, have frequently returned to Manchester and Liverpool, instead of remaining in the town.” This spurred the Sheffield architect into action, enlisting local businessmen, and choosing a site next to the Victoria Station. The 19th-century Grade II Crowne Plaza® Royal Victoria Sheffield hotel stands in quiet grounds off a private drive in Sheffield city centre. The hotel has 240 car parking spaces on-site. Sheffield's shops, theatres, museums and Ponds Forge water sports complex are within walking distance of the hotel. Room 214 was elegant and spacious with all the needs a guest requires for a short stay in the city whether for business or pleasure. QCD (Quality, Cost and Delivery) Breakfast was a sumptuous Buffet of Hot and Cold/Continental, English and Yorkshire. All the Crown Plaza Team where both friendly and attentive make the guest feel special and cared for. We had the pleasure of meeting John Conroy one of the co-owners of Hotel Crown Plaza (Hermann Beck and John Conroy) whom was most interested to know if we were enjoying our visit and stay of which we were delighted to proffer our delectations and enjoyed our discourse and discussions!

I recently stayed at this hotel with my two children, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The entire place was spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even adjusting the food menu to suit our needs. What really made our visit extra special was the thoughtful gesture from the hotel manager, who surprised my kids with a gift box filled with treats. It was such a kind and personal touch that made us feel valued and appreciated. Everything about our stay was perfect, and I can’t recommend this hotel enough for families. We’ll definitely be coming back

Excellent breakfast and we enjoyed the evening meal. The room had everything we needed. As there was a wedding on we were pleased to be on 2nd floor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was nice and quiet despite being busy. It was handy having a good car park next to hotel. A nice lot of lighting and mirrors in room. Lovely fluffy towels in bathroom and the shower was good.

Gloria

We really loved it here, it was a nice old building with lots of features. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The room was really comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was amazing, the French toast is highly recommended. Parking is easy and close by at £6 per 24 hours. The location is great for a wide range of food and nearby attractions

Salma

Rooms clean, beds large and comfortable; housekeeping and other staff pleasant and helpful. Breakfast range varied and good. The breakfast was included in the price paid. Parking close by. Like the fact that the building had a history and connection with the railways- it had a Victorian feel. Appreciate being able to book a family room.
